If you are here, you probably have a “Gentle Giant” ruling your house—or you are desperately researching before bringing one home.

I live in Upstate New York with my two Maine Coons, Atticus (a 22lb Red Tabby) and Penelope (a sassy Brown Classic).

Why This Website?#

When I got Atticus, I was overwhelmed. The “standard” cat advice didn’t work.

“Large” litter boxes were too small.
“Sturdy” cat trees wobbled like Jell-O.
And the hair… oh, the hair.

I built Maine Coon Fit to be the resource I wish I had. No fluff, just tested advice for the unique needs of the world’s largest domestic cat breed.

My Philosophy#

Health First: I believe in proactive testing for HCM and Hip Dysplasia.
Fed is Best (But Protein is King): Whether raw or kibble, I focus on nutrition that supports their massive muscle mass.
Enrichment: A bored Maine Coon is a destructive Maine Coon.
